Communicating with God - put on your birkenstocks were going back

This is where I get hung up.

I want very badly to have a deep understanding of prayer. Not for the sake of knowledge (as I have expressed before) but so that when I pray (1Thes 5:17, Luke 18:1, Rom 12:12, Eph 6:18, Col 4:2 - NET) I can fully give myself to prayer and dive into a total understanding that when I am communicating with God the creator He is listening and responding. Having said that, every time I began to post a piece of the puzzle I find myself feeling the need to go back and start from the begining. So with that, I want to follow that nudging. I heard Boyd speak once on the idea of engaging your imagination when praying. I love that idea. I guess to an extent that is my hope. The more clearly and deeply I understand prayer, when I pray, the more engageed I hope the "all of me" will be.

I want to be very very cautious in saying that I am not intending to have the perfect or most accurate (or anything close to it) understanding of historical scripture. I do want to be true to God's Word in every way possible, and I also want to except that I will make errors along the way. I hope that God will convict you to not except any of my inaccurate interpretations where they lie, but to focus on the truth that is contained in his word. If I have any hopes for onlookers it is that this discussion will cause you to dive into scripture, I mean completely, fully, and discover all that God has to say to you through His word. I believe there is no other hope in this world other than through Christ Jesus. I want to take advantage of the anonymity that can be exploited in the world of blogs and force people to not take my word for it, but to seek out God yourselves.

Having said that, please feel free to use the comments section to ask questions, propose possible errors, or to comment on the latest episode of LOST. I would love to hear others thoughts along the way ( from both of the people I believe to be reading my blog. Having said that, if indeed two people are reading my blog now, that would mean that I could report 100% growth from when I began which you have to admit is pretty impressive in our current market)
